How to use the Nook
One of the most important things in deciding which eReader is right for you is seeing how the different ebook readers look in action. While you can play around with the devices in the store, sometimes it is hard to know what to do, or you might feel self-conscious having somebody looking over your shoulder. The below video does a great rundown of the Barnes and Noble Nook, allowing you to learn how to use it and what it offers, without having to go out in public.
The video demonstrates a number of different features, from how to review your book library to the purchasing process. Unlike the Kindle, the Nook features a color screen on the bottom which offers a nice separate method of navigation from the text itself. This method offers a nice splash of color, and a quick interface that is touch screen supported.
Beyond the simple browsing, you can also use this screen to do your shopping. Seeing the colored book covers, you're able to better enjoy the overall experience of shopping.
Finally, a nice feature that the Barnes and Noble Nook has that isn't possible on the Kindle is the lending of books. With this feature, you're given the opportunity for a community feeling with your device, lending your purchases to friends and receiving books back. It's a great way to find new books and to enjoy reading with friends.
