Kindle DX Benefits
Bigger size, great display, best option
The Kindle DX is the bigger version of the Amazon Kindle, clocking in at 9.7 inches in size. In addition to being bigger, the device unfortunately carries a hefty price tag over four hundred dollars. However, the device doesn't simply come with a high price tag, as it offers a number of great advantages over the smaller eReader devices. The video we've included does a great job of breaking down these different features.
The bigger screen is great for reading documents and viewing maps, making the machine much more versatile. It's not just for books, but instead, a great option to review newspaper or magazines. To put the device's size in context, it is twice the size of the Kindle. This gives you much more viewing room, and you can put it in landscape mode to see your images in widescreen.
Despite its large size, the Kindle DX is very light due to its thinness. The device is just a third of an inch thin, making it barely noticeable when you carry it. Despite this, it is very durable, so you don't have to worry about breaking it.
The display looks great and the device features the great perk of automatically rotating the display as you turn the device. You can also control the font size with a number of different options, and the display utilizes eInk making it easy on the eyes compared to a computer screen.
If colleges would get behind this device, it would be a great way for students to remove the need for textbooks, and instead, get the same benefit simply by using the devices.
