Kindle Vs Nook - Breaking Even
The Kindle and Nook's common grounds
While we keep asking which is better in the Kindle Vs Nook battle, there are many ways in which these two products are comparable, and it's worth taking note of these. In the end, both of these devices are electronic book readers, and so they have a lot of common features. Here are some things you can be certain you will get no matter which eReader you opt for.
In terms of presentation in the Kindle vs Nook battle, both machines use the same eInk Screen. So your reading shouldn't be any different on either device. Continuing here, both the Kindle and the Nook support PDFs, making both eReaders comparable in that regard. For those of you who remember reading that the Kindle didn't support PDFs, this was a newly added feature in November, 2009.
As an offshoot of the usage of eInk, both devices get tremendous battery life. It's not uncommon to see people using either of these eReaders for a week or more before they need to recharge it.
Most importantly, price point is fairly comparable on each of the devices. They both have a "Cheap" and "Expensive" model that are priced around the same amount. In addition, when it comes to the prices of books, both eReaders sell the bestsellers for $9.99. Beyond the best sellers, it seems the Kindle has a slight advantage on book prices, but overall, it's hard to distinguish here.
In most respects, an eReader is an eReader is an eReader. As such, no matter what you decide when debating the Kindle vs Nook, you can't really go wrong. Let us know anything else you think that's worth noting and we'll add it here.
